Jacksonport State Park
Located 3 miles north of Newport on the White River, Jacksonport was a thriving 1800s steamboat port and Civil War site. The 1869 Jackson County Courthouse — one of the finest examples of Italianate architecture in Arkansas — now serves as a free museum with Civil War exhibits, pioneer artifacts, and steamboat-era history. The park offers RV camping, picnic areas, a boat launch, and beautiful river views.
