The Newport Economic Development Commission released its 2022-2023 Annual Update, showcasing significant economic activity in Newport and Jackson County. Highlights include $18 million in new capital investment, 120 new jobs created, 8 business expansion projects, and the completion of the Tech Depot renovation.

Director Jon Chadwell noted strong interest from businesses in the manufacturing, logistics, and technology sectors. "Our strategic location, skilled workforce, and competitive costs continue to attract quality employers," he said.
