The Newport Economic Development Commission announced plans for two transformative projects: the Newport Tech Depot, a $3.1 million IT training and co-working facility in downtown Newport, and DTech Park, a technology-focused business park with fiber infrastructure and shovel-ready sites.

"These projects position Newport as a leader in technology and innovation in rural Arkansas," said NEDC Director Jon Chadwell. The Tech Depot is expected to open in 2021 and will feature training classrooms, office suites, and high-speed fiber connectivity.
